What you'll find inside this course

The Heaters 101 course consists of 3 different lessons:

1. Heater Basics - where we discuss the basic components of a heater. While our course focuses on heaters commonly found in the midstream industry, such as hot oil heaters or regen gas heaters, the lesson will apply generally to all fired heaters.
2. Heater Coil Design - where we discuss how the radiant coil inside the heater is designed, and the methodology used to design it.
3. Process Burner Design - where we talk about the purpose of the burner in the heater, design characteristics, and emissions from the burner.

Each lesson consists of a short video delivered to your email each week. No homework, no assignments. 

Why did we make this course?

Short answer - to help you get up to speed faster. THM offers a full 2-day Heater School each year at our office. The Heater School goes into detail on how heaters and many of the heater components are designed. But this kind of time commitment and depth of study isn't for everyone. Some just want or need the basics (and want them quickly). This course was made for them (you?). Who knows, you may finish this course and decide that you do want to go into more depth. If so, great - we hope to see you in the fall!
