At Tulsa Heaters Midstream (THM), we pride ourselves on assembling a team of dedicated professionals with the expertise and passion to deliver top-tier industrial heating solutions. That’s why we’re thrilled to introduce Gage Lehmann, our newest project manager, who has already made a remarkable impact within his first six months with the company.
Gage brings to the table a robust background in mechanical engineering, a commitment to lifelong learning, and a talent for fostering customer relationships that drive projects toward success.
A Strong Foundation in Engineering and Education
Born and raised in Oklahoma, Gage has deep roots in the community. After graduating high school locally, he pursued a degree in mechanical engineering at Oklahoma State University. It was there that he honed his technical skills and cultivated a passion for problem-solving—qualities essential for his role at THM.
Currently, Gage is broadening his expertise with an MBA from Emporia State University, which he’s set to complete this fall. This advanced education not only equips him with stronger business acumen but also reinforces his ability to strategically manage THM’s complex projects.
When asked about his educational achievements, Gage expressed gratitude for the support he’s received from THM during his MBA pursuit, demonstrating the company’s dedication to professional growth and development.
Balancing Life and Work
Beyond his professional commitments, Gage enjoys a thriving family life. Married to his high school sweetheart for three years (and together for over a decade!), Gage recently welcomed his first child—a baby girl. Like any proud parent, he’s finding joy in watching her milestones while balancing his challenging role as a project manager.
During a recent conversation with Doyle Bishop, one of THM’s key leaders, Gage shared his excitement and challenges in juggling parenthood and career growth. His dedication speaks volumes about the values he carries into both his personal life and professional endeavors.
What Does Gage Do at Tulsa Heaters Midstream?
At THM, project managers play a critical role in ensuring that every project runs smoothly and is delivered with precision. Gage’s responsibilities include managing projects from start to finish, ensuring team alignment, and maintaining strong communication with both vendors and customers.
Here’s what Gage’s work involves on a daily basis:
1. Kickstarting Projects
Gage is responsible for setting the foundation of every project. This includes coordinating with team members to ensure everyone knows their roles and expectations right from the start. His meticulous planning helps THM meet its commitment to quality and efficiency.
2. Customer-Centric Management
One of Gage’s standout qualities is his focus on customer satisfaction. From approval drawings to final fabrication, he ensures that customer feedback is incorporated at every stage, guaranteeing the end product meets—if not exceeds—expectations.
3. Handling the Unexpected
Gage candidly admits that one of the hardest parts of his job is dealing with elements outside his control, like supply chain delays or unforeseen scheduling changes. However, he’s honed his ability to adapt and mitigate challenges, ensuring every obstacle is met with proactive solutions.
4. Building Relationships
For Gage, the most satisfying aspect of his role is building meaningful relationships with clients. He firmly believes that trust is the bedrock of successful collaboration. Strong relationships not only make the good news even sweeter but also provide the foundation for resolving challenges transparently and constructively.
Facing Challenges Head-On
Gage isn’t shy about discussing the challenges of project management. From navigating tight schedules to managing vendor-related issues, he emphasizes the importance of clear communication and influence. While external factors may be out of his hands, Gage harnesses his interpersonal skills and technical knowledge to guide projects toward successful outcomes.
“With project management, control is really about influence,” Gage shared during his recent conversation. “Sometimes, despite your best efforts, external forces take over. But focusing on what I can control—like customer communication and team alignment—makes a big difference.”
It’s this perspective that has already earned Gage recognition and trust within the THM community and beyond.
